@Sus_i and @bloot and @Tech0308 and @Rortiz2 just to say all your painstaking coaching and my reading paid off (for me anyway) Instead of magisk, flashed the older vii.2.4.2/2907 update (from before ota update processes became protected) and set LM to block updates. It also fixed the problems with Netflix, Disney etc. Will look to flash Lineage custom rom sometime, now that I know how, and likewise put Linux on one of my laptops. Thanks heaps!

Open TWRP, then mount /system, go to file explorer, get to navigate to priv-app and delete the folder
"com.amazon.device.software.ota"
Normally y'all should be proficient to go at present, but goto /data/app and cheque for same folder (it will have something as suffix) if its nowadays then delete information technology, your ota should be blocked.

@SweenWolf thank you for your suggested fix . . . appreciate your work (and that of your good mate TDUK) LM and Debloat Tool are must-haves. This other way to cake updates, is information technology somehow more permanent or safer than thru LM or Debloat Tool?

Thats fine
I have only one affected stick (a new 4k Mantis) with the rpmb downgrade error... Ever the same, the commencement two attempts with mistake, the third works fine.

Edit: Now I have a sheldonp with the downgrade issue also, but worked also afterward a few attempts.

I tried another linux calculator and it works now. I had to install the usb module beneath as well.

I'1000 trying to flash my sheldonp but , I can't notice the correct command to do this.
I'd put the rom.zippo and googleapps.zip in the kamakiri folder.
Then I opened the terminal in the folder and conect to the sheldonp on the twrp recovery.
Just whem I type twrp install "rom.zip, I got "Error installing zippo file"

What should I exercise?

I'd put the rom.zip and googleapps.zip in the kamakiri folder.
Then I opened the concluding in the binder and conect to the sheldonp on the twrp recovery.

The files demand to be on the Fire Stick... Apply adb push <file> /sdcard/ beginning

Can you provide more Data, i.e. what kind of stick (sheldon or sheldonp) and the installed fireOS, delight!?
Brand sure (check in stettings) that the stick hasn't got an update already, considering the latest Os will need the updated TZ.

FYI, disable updates with:

                                    adb shell su pm disable com.amazon.device.software.ota pm disable com.amazon.device.software.ota.override pm disable com.amazon.tv.forcedotaupdater.v2 exit exit                                  

Perchance someone of you lot with a sheldonp device can install 7.2.4.nine from here, without to wink magisk backside the Os update please, to see if information technology works?

You need to install magisk via twrp, in society to become root access in fireOS.

If you are having trouble clearing the downloaded update from the commandline, y'all could install Remote ADB app from here onto your firestick. Open up the app and enter this command:

                                pm articulate com.amazon.device.software.ota
